Terrapin Tuesdays. This week’s pick 5/7/77 at the Boston Garden chosen by Aron Magner of The Disco Biscuits

#TerrapinTuesdays
Our very, very special guest selection this week comes from Aron Magner of The Disco Biscuits. Long time fans of the Grateful Dead, and collaborators of mine, they have some special memories to share. Plus you might see us do our own version of "Terrapin" at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater on Firday night. In honor of the upcoming show, we are giving away a pair of tickets. To win the tickets; share the Terrapin Tuesday post on FB (http://on.fb.me/1Hzru3k) and tag the friend you'd bring to the show and tell us why you picked them. The best friend story wins!

Aron has these comments to share about his favorite "Terrapin": May 7, 1977, at the Boston Garden. "There’s something so warm about the entire May '77 tour. Perhaps it's the pristine mix so beautifully captured by Betty Cantor, or Phil’s bass slides on his fretless, so indicative of the sound of this particular run. Maybe it's that all of these shows remind me of my teenage years, since the tapes were so well circulated. Regardless, May '77 captures the band playing in peak form. This "Terrapin" is no exception. The song was still so new, less than a dozen times played, and the album (though already recorded) hadn’t even dropped yet. The performances of "Terrapin" on this tour were pure and honest, played with a sense of youthful exuberance by a band at the beginning of another upswing. A band now armed with one of their most powerful and epic songs in an already amazing catalog."

Thanks, Aron. Have a great show at Red Rocks and we'll see everyone next week for TerrapinTuesdays.
