Terrapin Tuesdays – This Week’s Guest Pick From Jay Blakesberg – Englishtown 1977

Imagine your first Grateful Dead show if you will.  For me I was 15 years old and my first show had close to 150,000 people to lead the way. About 250 shows later and my seat on the bus has never been empty.

For years and years the bootleg tapes recorded from the radio broadcast of this show did not have "Terrapin". This show was broadcast on WNEW – NY however they cut the broadcast before the encore.  When Englishtown was released as a Dick’s Pick – at last we all got this "Terrapin"!

This show was the first in a series of East Coast Labor day concerts that would all come to be some of my favorites over the years.
1977 – Englishtown, NJ
1978 – Meadowlands, NJ
1979 – Rochester, NY
1980 – Lewiston, Maine
