“Spirit Into Sound” Album Review by zBoneman

Spirit Into Sound is an appropriate title for this entrancing journey through the natural and exotic sounds of this excellent new opus. Mickey Hart (the ex-percussionist for the Grateful Dead) leads us through a mezmerizing assortment of enchanting sound. At points the beats sound like African tribal drumming, but then the music will progress into a more modern sound with electronic overdubbing. Mickey's sound has really progressed over the years. This disc is adventurous, pure and exceptionally creative. After a disappointing last release, this disc is a refreshing surprise. Spirit Into Sound should not be pigeon-holed as a post-Dead release or a New Age meditation tool. This disc is pure musical genius and comes highly recommended.
