The pre-eminent classical tabla virtuoso of our time, Zakir Hussain is an international phenomenon in the field of percussion and in the music world at large. He is one of the world’s most esteemed and influential musicians and widely considered a chief architect of the contemporary world music movement.

A Grammy Award-winning tabla player, musical producer, film actor and composer, Zakir is appreciated both in the field of percussion and in the music world at large as an international phenomenon.

Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain gave a special treat to inmates at Pune's Yerawada Central Prison.
As a part of the rehabilitation program 'Preranapath', tabla maestro Zakir Hussain visited the jail and interacted with the inmates. The event was organised by a NGO and the prison administration. Watch the performance here: https://youtu.be/Z3w8b7JFzKU
